VALDOSTA, Ga. - Valdosta State University's athletic director Mr. Herb Reinhard has been named a finalist for the NCAA Anniversary Gold Award. This award is being used to celebrate two individuals who have made a lasting and positive impact in Division II to celebrate the division's yearlong 50th anniversary.
Valdosta State's Herb Reinhard and Mississippi College's Erin Hederman were selected to represent the Gulf South Conference, which was announced by the league office and NCAA national office on Monday.
Reinhard, who has been at Valdosta State since January of 1992, has been credited with restarting women's volleyball in 1995 and the addition of women's soccer in 2011. He has been the longest tenured athletic director in the GSC and has been at helm for 50 of the school's 54 GSC championships. Mr. Reinhard has also been with VSU athletics for seven of eight NCAA national championships, with football being most recent in 2018.Â
