Men’s Golf 12th Following Two Rounds of Hurricane Invitational

ALBANY, Ga. – The Valdosta State men's golf team is 12th with a 605 score through 36 holes on rounds of 296 and 309 on the par 72, Doublegate Country Club course.  Lander Leads the 15-team field with a 1-under 575 heading into Tuesday's final round.  Blazer freshman individual Alex Nilehn is tied for fourth at 1-under heading into the final round on rounds of 74 and 69 in his second collegiate tournament.
 
The teams will play a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m., for the final round, as fans can access live stats and streaming of the final round on vstateblazers.com on the men's golf schedule page.
 
VSU tied for seventh through the first round opening with a 296, as Shorter led the way with a 290.  Junior Chase Long and sophomore Ty Folsom both carded open round 72s for the Blazers. 

The second round, VSU struggled with a 309 score.  Heading into the final round, Long is tied for 30th to lead the team with a 149 score and a 77 to go along with his opening-round 72.  Junior Parker Highsmith is tied for tied for 42nd with a 151 score on rounds of 74 and 77.  Folsom is tied for 60th with an 83 in the second round along with a 72 to open.  Junior Brandon Cho carded rounds of 78 and 77 for a 155 score to also tie for 60th.  Junior Gage Winkler fired rounds of 78 and 79 for a 157 score to for 65th.
 
Lander's Linus Jonsson leads the field with a 5-under 139 on rounds of 69 and 70, while there is a tie for second between Lee's George Cordall and Lander's Ludvig Eriksson at 4-under 140.  Five players sit at 1-under, including Nilehn, while three others are even par.
 
Following Lander, host Georgia Southwestern is second in the clubhouse with a 579 score, while Lee and Shorter are third at 581.  North Georgia is fifth at 589, while Lincoln Memorial and Carson-Newman are tied for sixth at 591. West Florida and Tampa are tied for eighth at 593, followed by South Carolina Beaufort at 599.  Anderson is just ahead of the Blazers at 602.  Delta State sits 13th (+47), followed by West Georgia (+48) and Georgia College is 15th at 637.
