VALDOSTA, Ga. – The Valdosta State men's golf team had two players earn Srixon/Cleveland Golf NCAA Division II All-America Scholars in rising seniors
Ryan Pollman and
Chase Weathers, while the team was one of 25, NCAA Division II institutions with a 3.0 cumulative grade-point average or better for the 2021-22 season.
Weathers earned the individual honor for the third time as he finished the 2021-22 season as he earned GSC All-Academic honors this past spring for the second time. He finished this season playing in ten tournaments for 30 rounds with 28 rounds in the 70s and a low-round of 69. He finished a season-best tenth at the Saint Leo Invitational (69,73,70) this year and a 74.7 stroke average.
Pollman played in all ten tournaments for 30 rounds for a 75.3 stroke average. He finished in the top 20 twice with a season-best T-11
th finish at the NCAA South/Southeast Region Preview last fall with a 218 score on rounds of 72, 70, 76. Pollman finished with 28 rounds in the 70s and a low-round of 70 twice.
The duo along with the rest of the 2022-23 edition of the Blazers open the season at The Griffin Invitational hosted by Saint Leo University at Southern Hills Plantation Golf Course in Brooksville, Fla., Sept. 12-13.
