COLUMBUS, Ga. – The No. 54 Valdosta State women's tennis team fell at No. 4 Columbus State Wednesday afternoon, 5-2. With the loss, VSU dropped to 7-11 on the year, while CSU improved to 14-4.

Natalie Kohoutkova lost to No. 17 Valentina Abrile and Mariana Ramirez, 6-1. It marked the second time the duo had played together this spring and the first outing in singles or doubles for Kohoutkova since Mar. 7. Freshman

Rachelle Starreveld dropped a 6-4 decision at No. 2 to Neila Trklja and Agostina Bigotti, 6-4, while freshmen sisters Adriana and
Andrea Barrio lost at No. 3, 6-4, to Yelena Labat and Luciana Galves.
Labat won at No. 4 singles over freshman
Elisa Beau, 6-3, 6-0, for a 2-0 CSU lead as CSU won the top four singles positions to clinch the match. At No. 5,
Adriana Barrio continued her strong season as she defeated Galves, 6-3, 6-4, while Starreveld won at No. 6, 4-6, 6-2, 10-8, for the final 5-2 margin.
The Blazers return home for the final two matches of the regular season, first facing No. 17 Flagler on Friday at 2 p.m. at the VSU Tennis Complex and then next Wednesday at 3 p.m. versus Auburn Montgomery.
