VALDOSTA, Ga. – The Valdosta State women's tennis team opened Gulf South Conference play with a 7-0 victory over Shorter Friday afternoon at the VSU Tennis Complex. VSU improved to 2-5 on the year, while Shorter fell 2-6 and 0-4 in league play.
Blazer freshmen duo of
Elisa Beau and
Magda Tuells Bonet won 6-0 at No. 3 and senior Hera Brynjarsdottir Bjork and sophomore
Julia Saving won at No. 2, 6-2, to claim the doubles point.
Heading to singles, the Blazers made quick work winning all six singles matches in straight-sets, including three matches of 6-0, 6-0 victories. Freshmen sisters

Adriana Barrio posted bagels, as did freshman
Anastasiia Vorobiova.
