VALDOSTA, Ga. – The Valdosta State women's tennis team fell to No. 12 Lynn Friday afternoon 4-0 at the VSU Tennis Courts. VSU now stands at 4-8 on the year, while Lynn improved to 10-3.
Despite the loss, the Blazers gave an outstanding effort from start to finish. The Fighting Knights opened the scoring with wins at Nos. 2 and 3 doubles by the same score of 6-2 for the early 1-0 lead. Lynn won in straight-sets at Nos. 4-6 singles for the 4-0 victory. Blazer freshman
Andrea Barrio playing at No. 5, dropped the first set to Barbora Cibakova, 6-2, but showed great improvement in the second set, falling 7-5.

Elisa Beau was tied 1-1 the third set when the match was decided.
The Blazers return to action with four matches in Pensacola, Fla., Apr. 1-3, and then has road matches at Montevallo (Apr. 8) and at Columbus State (Apr. 13). VSU hosts its final two home matches on Apr. 15 and Apr. 20 versus Flagler and Auburn Montgomery, respectively, at the VSU Tennis Courts.
