ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The Valdosta State men's golf team began the 2022 spring season at the Men's Spring Kick-Off Intercollegiate hosted by Lincoln Memorial University on the par 72, 7,136-yard St. Johns Golf and Country Club course.
 
With about four holes remaining in the second round, play was suspended due to darkness and will resume to finish the second round at 8 a.m. Tuesday, followed by the third and final round.  Fans can access links to live stats of the tournament on vstateblazers.com on the men's golf schedule page. 
 
The first round had very windy conditions and all 22 teams in the field shot over 300 for the round.  The second rounds scores were better for a number of teams.  With two scores not entered through 14 holes when play was suspended, VSU heads into the final holes of the second round at +24 for the tournament and +2 for the second round.  Graduate student Wesley Hanson was even through 14 holes in the second round after opening with a 74 in the first round to lead the team.
