Durham, McGill and Smith Earn D2CCA Second Team All-Super Region Two Accolades

VALDOSTA, Ga. – Valdosta State football seniors Ivory Durham, Seth McGill and B.K. Smith earned Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) Second Team All-Super Region Two accolades, announced Thursday.

Durham, a native of Jacksonville, Fla., capped an outstanding career for the red and black earning his second D2CCA second team all-region selection in 2022.  He finished his career playing in 50 games and going 17-8 as a starting quarterback over the last two seasons.  This year, he is 14th nationally in passing touchdowns, finishing the season with 27, while he is 17thnationally in passing yards with 2,770 as both are good for second in the Gulf South Conference.  He is 20th nationally, also second in the league, in passing yards per game at a 251.8 average.  Durham is ninth nationally in total offense at 309.0 yards per game for second in the GSC. 
 
He finished his career tenth all-time in school history in rushing yards with 2,403 yards on 301 carries and 27 rushing touchdowns, while he is fifth all-time in career passing yards with 6,084.  His 69 passing touchdowns ties him with former Blazer Rogan Wells (2017-19) for third all-time in school history.  Durham completed 476 passes for seventh all-time in school history.  He finished second all-time in team history in total offense yards with 9,207 on 1,138 plays.  He earned GSC Player of the Week three times in his career and earned Second Team All-GSC accolades once.  
 
McGill, a native of Miami, Fla., also capped an outstanding career in both the backfield and in the kick return game.  He earned second team all-region honors this season as a return specialist and earned first team all-conference honors as an all-purpose back.  McGill finished the season with 32 kick returns for a 23.8 average per return and 817 yards for second nationally, while his 23.8 average per return is good for 30th nationally.  McGill is 15th nationally in all-purpose yards for second in the GSC at 151.18 per game.   He finished second on the team in rushing yards with 739 yards and five touchdowns for a 67.2 average per game on a team-high 142 attempts in 2022.  His 739 yards placed him ninth in the GSC, while the 67.2 yards per game was good for sixth in the league. 
 
He finished his career playing in exactly 50 games with 571 rushing attempts for 3,369 yards, while McGill's 42 rushing touchdowns were good for second all-time in school history.  He had nine games of rushing over 100 yards with a career-high 190 yards against Delta State in 2021.  McGill finished sixth all-time in school history in scoring with 46 total touchdowns for 276 points.  He was named to the GSC All-Decade First Team as an all-purpose back in 2021 and earned D2CCA All-Region honors that season.  McGill also returned 48 kicks for 1,192 yards and a 24.8 average for second all-time in program history in return yard average.  
 
Smith, a native of Louisville, Ky., also earned second team all-conference honors this season as he made an immediate impact for the Blazers as he led the team with 726 receiving yards on 42 receptions and six scores.  He averaged 66.0 yards per game and 17.3 yards per reception to lead the team.  Smith had a season-high 148 yards receiving against Mississippi College (Oct. 15), while he is third in the GSC in receiving yards (726), fifth in receiving touchdowns (6) and third in receiving yards per game (66.0).  Smith also had four punt returns for 28 yards.
