VALDOSTA, Ga. - The Valdosta State men's and women's cross country teams are scheduled to compete at the NCAA DII South Region Cross Country Championship, Saturday, Nov. 19, at Holloway Park in Lakeland, Fla. The men's 10K race is slated to begin at 7:40 a.m., while the women's 6K race is scheduled to start at 8:55 a.m.

For the Blazer women, all five student-athletes will be competing and for the men, eight student-athletes will travel, but only seven can compete.

Both cross country teams are coming off the GSC Cross Country Championship on Nov. 19, at the Montevallo Cross Country Course. The women's team finished 10th overall, while the men's team finished fifth for the Blazer men's best finish since 2014.

Caitlyn Koske finished as the top Blazer finisher with a time of 19:39, good for 28
th overall, while juniorÂ
Katie LaCroix finished 53

The men's team had a great final push to move into fifth as it sat seventh at the 6.8K mark and, over the final 1.2K, hit its stride to move up two spots to fifth. VSU has finished sixth in each of the last two conference championship races.

Following the NCAA DII South Region Cross Country Championship, the NCAA DII National Cross Country Championships are slated for Friday, Dec. 2 in Chambers Bay, Wash.
