VALDOSTA, Ga. – The No. 9-ranked Valdosta State softball team will look to earn an at-large bid to the NCAA South Regional Sunday evening as the 2021 NCAA Division II Softball Championship field is unveiled by the NCAA, May 16 at 10 p.m. ET.

As announced last month, VSU was selected for hosting duties for the NCAA South Regional, May 19-22 at Steel's Diamond at Blazer Park.  The NCAA Division II Championships Committee chose pre-determined regional sites for the 2021 NCAA Division II Softball Championships.  Due to health and safety protocols surrounding the COVID-19 Pandemic, it is necessary to conduct all NCAA championship competition at predetermined sites.  The committee believes the sites and hosts chosen will provide an exceptional and safe experience for all participants.
 
The Blazers are 34-8 overall and earned a share of the GSC regular season title with Auburn Montgomery as both teams finished 25-5 in league play.  Check back with vstateblazers.com following the selection show Sunday evening for more information on the regional tournament.
