NORMAN, Okla. – The Valdosta State men's golf team returned to the Bushnell Golfweek Division II Coaches' Poll at No. 23 this week. The Blazers are one of seven teams from the South Region in the Top 25.
The South Region claimed the top two spots in the poll as Lynn is the top team, followed by West Florida. South Carolina-Aiken is third, followed by Barry and Lincoln Memorial rounds out the top five. Along with Lynn, UWF and Barry in the top five from the South Region, Saint Leo sits eighth, followed by Lee at tenth. Florida Southern is 21st followed by VSU at 23rd.
Among others receiving votes this week from the South Region are; Tampa, Nova Southeastern, Florida Tech, West Georgia, Delta State, Christian Brothers and Rollins.
In the Golfstat rankings, West Florida leads the poll, followed by South Carolina-Aiken, Lynn, Lincoln Memorial and Barry rounds out the top five. In the region, Lee is 11th and Florida Southern is 24th. VSU moved from 32nd to 28th following its eighth-place finish at the Southeastern Collegiate in Valdosta Mar. 15-16.
