MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Valdosta State volleyball team fell to Auburn Montgomery Friday evening in the first match of their weekend away series. The Blazers fall to 12-19 overall and 5-10 in the Gulf South Conference, while the Warhawks improve to 17-12 overall and 8-5 in the GSC.

First Set:
The Blazers jumped out 8-3 in the first set, but the Warhawks recovered with six straight points as they took the lead 17-16 and went on to take the first set 25-22.

Second Set:
Starting strong in the second set, VSU took the lead at 8-3, but the Warhawks answered back and took control of the set at 17-11. AMU continued to lead and took the second set 25-14.Â

Third Set:
The third set went back and forth between the Blazers and Warhawks until AMU went on an eight-point streak at 21-14 and proceeded to take the third set 25-15 and the match 3-0.

The Blazers tallied 41 digs, 32 kills, 31 assists, four blocks, and three aces. VSU was led in kills by freshman

Lyara Rosario led the Blazers in digs with 13 as senior
Tammy Reyes-Perez led in assists with 29. Deluca, graduate student

Caitlin Warnshuis all had two blocks as Smith, Stroehlein, and Warnshuis recorded one service ace.
