Imoras Agee were named the Steel's Jewelry Blazer Athletes of the Week.
This is the first weekly honor for both men's and women's basketball this season. Farrar, a native of Grovetown, Ga., and South Carolina-Aiken, had recorded her first double-double in a Lady Blazer uniform, helping VSU battle back from a 10-point halftime deficit to an 82-69 victory over rival West Georgia last weekend earning Gulf South Conference East Division Player of the Week honors. Farrar was brilliant on the offensive end, going 11 of 13 from the field with one free throw attempt, while pulling down seven offensive rebounds and four on the defensive end. She had three assists, one block and two steals in 30 minutes of action.
Agee, a native of Linden, Ala., led the Blazers in points and went 10 of 19 from the field with five treys, five rebounds and two assists during his 35 minutes of play in a thrilling 62-60 season-opening victory at West Georgia on Saturday. Agee hit a game-tying 3-pointer with a little over three minutes to play and hit another trey two possessions later to give VSU a 60-57 lead. He finished with a VSU career-high 26 points.
The Lady Blazers play at Montevallo Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. ET and then are scheduled to host No. 21 Lee Saturday at 2 p.m. at The Complex to conclude the 2020 portion of the schedule. The Blazers had their home-opener postponed for Wednesday evening and Saturday's road game at Lee. The men's team opens 2021 at Auburn Montgomery on Jan. 2-3, before a five-game homestand beginning Jan. 8-9 versus Shorter.
