THE LEAD: The Valdosta State Blazers volleyball team struggled against rival West Georgia on Saturday afternoon. The Blazers fell to the Wolves, three sets to none, as the Blazers only had a .053 hitting percentage.
First Set:
- Seven errors doomed the Blazers early, as the Wolves took an early lead.
- VSU had a .000 hitting percentage in the first set, with only seven kills.
- The Wolves used multiple runs to over come a late rally from the Blazers.
Second Set:
- VSU struggled again with a hitting percentage of .070.
- VSU rallied with a kill from Kennedy DeLuca and an ace from Jessica Mooney, to close the gap to 20-15.
- West Georgia held off another late rally from VSU , to take the second set

Third Set:
- West Georgia jumped out to a quick 8-3 lead.
- VSU battled back, using a 4-1 run to close the deficit to 9-7.
- The Wolves used an 8-2 run, to take a 16-10 lead.
- After a late rally from the Blazers, West Georgia used a .367 hitting percentage to take the set and the match.

Inside the Numbers:
- VSU committed 23 errors, with eight each in the second and third sets.
- The Blazers finished with 23 kills and a .053 hitting percentage
- Sophomore Jessie Mooney impressed with 17 digs, eight kills and three aces.
- Junior Tammy Reyes Perez continued to her fantastic play with a double-double (22 assists and 10 digs).
- Senior Dariah Powell accounted for 11 digs and five kills.
