VALDOSTA, Ga.- The Valdosta State Blazers women's basketball team is set for its first conference road trip of the season as they travel north to Tennessee. The Lady Blazers are scheduled to face Christian Brothers on Saturday at 2 p.m. The Blazers then travel on Sunday to Union for a 6:30 p.m tip.
 
Who is Christian Brothers?

• The Buccaneers are coming off a 76-71 loss to Cedarville University.
• Junior guards Taylor Williams and Brynn Lytle are both averaging 14.5 points per game
• Sophomore Lauren Taylor leads the Bucs in rebounds, averaging eight rebounds per contest.
• CBU has averaged 61.5 points per game and has shot 35% from the field.
• The Buccaneers hold a 1-1 record overall.

 
Who is Union?

• The Bulldogs currently hold a 3-2 record, including a victory over No. 15-ranked Nova Southeastern.
• Junior center Jaelencia Williams leads Union offensively, averaging 20.4 points per game and 9.6 rebounds per game.
• Union returns as one of the top teams in the GSC, and will provide a big challenge for the Lady Blazers.

 
Who is VSU?

• VSU opened the season with three wins, with the latest coming against Lynn.
• Junior guard Kayla Bonilla had a fantastic debut against Lynn, with 23 points.
• Senior Cheray Saunders (18.7 ppg) and junior Kayla Frey (12.0 ppg) have emerged as top scoring options for the Lady Blazers
• Saunders has been the complete package so far for the Lady Blazers, averaging 18.7 points, 3.3 assists, and 5.7 rebounds per game.
