THE LEAD: The Valdosta State Blazers volleyball team dropped a tough match on Saturday, 3-1, against Alabama Huntsville.
 
First Set:

• UAH hit .310 in the first set and only committed one error.
• The Blazers could not overcame eight errors.
• VSU tallied ten kills in the first set.

 
Second Set:

• VSU hit an outstanding .344 in the second set.
• Nine errors hurt the Chargers, as the Blazers started to pull away.
• VSU finished off the Chargers in the second set, holding off a late UAH rally.

 
Third Set:

• UAH jumped out to a big 14-9 lead.
• VSU pushed for a late rally, as the Blazers cut the deficit.
• Both teams used runs, before the Chargers pulled away to take the third set, 25-21

Fourth Set:

• The Blazers used another quick start to take the momentum early in the fourth set.
• UAH rallied multiple times, as both teams battled back and forth
• UAH finished off VSU with .300 hitting percentage.

 
Inside the Numbers:

• The Blazers finished with 50 kills and a .182 hitting percentage
• Senior Dariah Powell (16 kills and 14 digs) tallied a double-double.
• Junior Rebecca Sills totaled 22 digs and three assists.
• Junior Tammy Reyes Perez totaled 35 assists.
• Sophomore Jessie Mooney tallied eight kills, 14 digs and two blocks.
