THE LEAD:  No. 15 West Florida posted a 3-0 win over visiting Valdosta State Saturday afternoon in Gulf South Conference volleyball.  UWF won 25-17, 25-18 and 26-24.  VSU senior
Katie McInnis had a team-high ten kills. Â

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- UWF used a 10-2 run to take command of the first set as it won 25-17.
- The Blazers hit .212 for the first set with 12 kills and five errors on 33 attempts, but UWF hit .400 with 17 kills and just three errors on 35 swings.
- In the second set, UWF again raced out to the early lead, scoring 10 of the first 13 points.Â
- VSU pulled within 15-10 on an ace from senior Chloe' Chubilleau, but the Argos quickly built the lead back to six at 18-12. Â
- The Blazers used a late rally in the set after a double-digit deficit to pull within 24-18, but a kill from Nadine Williams ended the set at 25-18.
- UWF hit .400 once again with 18 kills and five errors in the second frame, while VSU had just eight kills in the set and four errors. Â
- In the third set, VSU raced out to a 9-4 lead, but a 6-2 run by the Argos pulled UWF within 11-9 as the set remained tight from there.
- Williams earned a kill, tying the set at 14 before the Argos took the lead for the first time.
- VSU fought back to tie the set three times, including 24-24. Â
- Kills from Makila York and Makenzie Chrisman ended the match.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Despite the loss, the Blazers fought tough in the third set with 15 kills and six errors on 36 attempts for a .250 average, while UWF dipped to .208 in the final set on 16 kills with six errors. Â
- McInnis had the ten kills in 21 swings, while sophomore Tammy Reyes-Perez recorded 31 assists and freshman Aurora Nero added 12 digs.
- Four different Argos had double-digit kills led by 12 from Williams and York as York hit .435 with 12 kills in 23 swings.
