HOW IT HAPPENED:
- FVSU scored the first bucket of the game for its largest lead of the game as the Blazers held the lead the rest of the way.
- VSU used two free throws from junior Darrell Jones to push the lead to double digits for the first time at 34-23 with 1:11 left in the first half.
- FVSU's Terrance Evans had the final bucket of the half for a 36-25 VSU lead at the break.
- VSU dominated the second half and outscored the Wildcats 58-40, shooting 19 of 39 in the second half (.487) and went 13 of 17 from the line in the final stanza.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- In the first half, VSU was 13 of 34 from the field, but was just 2 of 11 from range and 8 of 11 from the line.
- VSU forced 12 turnovers and led 12-7 in points off turnovers, while Jones had a team-high seven points early.
- FVSU's Shawn Foxbrennen had a game-high nine points at intermission for the Wildcats, as the team shot 10 of 30 from the field, 2 of 8 from range and 3 of 4 from the line.
- For the game, Morgan was 7 of 12 from the field and an impressive 6 of 10 from beyond the arc, while going 2 of 3 from the line.
- Justice started to find his rhythm as he was 8 of 16 from the field with three triples and two free throws. Jones chipped in 18 points with six field goals and six free throws.
- VSU was 32 of 73 from the field for the game (.438) and was 9 of 26 from range, while going 21 of 28 from the line.
- FVSU shot 37.3 percent for the game on 22 of 59 and went 0 of 7 from range in the second half, while the game became a foul fest as the Wildcats went 16 of 18 from the stripe in the second half for 19 of 22 for the game.
- Foxbrennen had a team-high 20 points on 7 of 12 from the field, one triples and five free throws, as he pulled down nine rebounds.
