ONLINE REGISTRATION FOR HALL OF FAME BRUNCH (JANUARY 12TH DEADLINE)

VALDOSTA, Ga. -
An exciting event is right around the corner for Blazer Nation, as the Valdosta State Athletic Department prepares to honor the newest inductees to the VSU Athletics Hall of Fame as members of the Class of 2018. The inductees listed below are expected to return to TitleTown on January 19th for a host of events on Hall of Fame Weekend, including the 22nd Annual Induction Ceremony Brunch on Saturday, January 20th at 10:00 a.m. in the Student Union Ballroom. In addition, the Class of 2018 will be recognized on Friday night during the men's basketball game against Auburn Montgomery, which will tip off at 8:00 p.m.

VSU Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2018 - Sponsored by the VSU Alumni Association:

2012 National Championship Softball Team

Under the leadership of Coach Thomas Macera, this group lost the first game of the Division II National Tournament before reeling off five consecutive wins to come out of the bottom of the bracket and claim VSU Softball's first ever National Title! The dominance of this squad was unprecedented, as the team seemed to win every time they took the field. The group lost just five times in 63 games, resulting in an eye-popping 58 total wins.

Ivey Hubbard - Men's Basketball
Ivey joined the Blazers in 1979 to begin a four year career for the Blazers, during which he averaged an impressive 16.5 points per game. Throughout his career, Ivey became a consistent force for the red and black and constructed an incredible offensive run led to 1,783 career points, which placed him fourth all-time on Valdosta State's all-time scoring list.

Sonja Harper - Softball
Sonja's career began in 1995, and during her 4-year career, she quickly established herself as one of the top infielders in both the Gulf South Conference and the country. Sonja constructed a .325 career batting average, with 50 doubles and nine career homers, and in 1999, she became the first Lady Blazer to ever earn All-American honors.

Christian Hansen - Men's Tennis
Prior to his senior season as the ITA National Player of the Year in 2012, Christian put together a 17-3 doubles record and a 9-2 singles record to help lead the Blazers to a 17-1 season in 2011. As a result, Christian's 2011 team not only won the Gulf South Conference Championship and the South Regional Championship, but the team won the Division II National Championship, marking the second in Blazer tennis history. Christian not only played a critical role in the 2011 national championship season, but also teamed up with Luis Loeffler during the fall of his senior season to win the ITA National Doubles Championship.

Andreas Boberg - Golf
Andreas started his career at VSU in the mid-90's and during his three years with the program, he led the team with averages of 75.9 or better in each of his three seasons. His efforts in 1998 earned the junior All-American recognition, and he followed it up in 1999 with his second straight All-American honor to cap off his senior year.

Dennis Fike - Basketball and Baseball
With a career that began in 1962, Dennis helped lay the framework for the success that Blazer Athletics has enjoyed throughout the last several decades. He was a member of the Blazer basketball program, but made a name for himself on the baseball field. The efforts of the versatile athlete on the diamond captured the attention of voters throughout the collegiate baseball contingent, and Dennis became the first position player to ever receive All-Gulf South Conference honors at Valdosta State.

Ken Ferrell - Contributor
Ken has been a part of Blazer Nation for 50 years. He supported the team during his time as an employee at Valdosta State, but that was only the beginning. To this day, Ken has provided immeasurable contributions not only to the Blazer Athletics program, but also to the community. His unwavering support of the Blazers is unmatched, and countless student-athletes have benefitted from his support and generosity.

Ramon Allen - Football
Ramon began his career in 1988 and hit the ground running, so to speak. As a running back for the Blazers in the late eighties and early nineties, Ramon kicked off his four years with a GSC Freshman of the Year honor and his collective body of work led to 3,071 rushing yards. The astonishing yardage total in his career marks the fourth-most ever tallied during the career of a Valdosta State running back.
