VALDOSTA, Ga. – Valdosta State Athletics has announced a new partnership with Aflac.

Through the partnership, Aflac will have a visible presence at several Blazer events, including signage at Billy Grant Field at Tommy Thomas Park, home of Blazer Baseball and a Bazemore–Hyder Stadium during football season. The collaboration will also include an interactive "Aflac Trivia Question of the Game" promotion at select baseball contests, giving fans an opportunity to participate in gameday trivia for prizes while engaging with Blazer Athletics.

"We are excited to welcome Aflac as a partner of Valdosta State Athletics," said VSU Director of Athletics Troy Katen. "Having a company with such a strong presence in Georgia support our programs is important, and the connection through Bryan Shover makes this partnership even more special. It's always meaningful when former Blazers continue to give back and stay involved with our department."

The partnership carries added meaning for the Blazer community through the involvement of Shover, who currently works with Aflac and is one of the most decorated players in the history of the Valdosta State Blazers baseball program. A member of the Valdosta State University Athletic Hall of Fame, Shover was a standout on the diamond during his time at Valdosta State and remains closely connected to the program and the university and provides color commentary on the webstream for home baseball games.

"The Aflac Valdosta Regional Office is thrilled to support Valdosta State University Athletics," said Sue Tucker, Aflac Regional Coordinator.  "Our partnership is dedicated to serving the local community and connecting VSU students with impactful career opportunities. We're honored to be part of the Blazer family."
