FLORENCE, Ala. - The Valdosta State volleyball team suffered a tough 3-0 (25-19, 25-23, 25-13) road loss to the North Alabama Lions in Gulf South Conference action on Saturday afternoon in Florence, Ala.
With the loss, the Blazers fell to 7-5 overall and saw their GSC record even up at 2-2. Meanwhile, the Lions improved to 12-3 and lifted their league record to 2-1.
Lexie Bradley fueled the Lions offensively with 17 kills on 43 attempts for a .256 hitting effort. Jessica Austin supplemented Bradley's effort with nine kills on 19 attempts for a .474 hitting percentage.
The Blazers racked up 12 block assists in the contest, and both
Sydney Chick and
Chelsea Chavers reached double digit figures in the dig column, but VSU struggled to find rhythm offensively. VSU managed to keep the match close throughout the first two frames, but the Lions ran away with the final set to seal the win.
