VALDOSTA, Ga. - Valdosta State's red hot weekend continued on Saturday afternoon with a 3-0 sweep over the Alabama-Huntsville Chargers in Gulf South Conference volleyball action at The Complex in Valdosta, Ga.
Susanna Peonia picked up her 11th double-double effort of the season after swinging for ten kills and picking up ten digs in the convincing win. In addition,
Antia Rodriguez-Sanchez led the team in kills for the second straight match after clubbing 14 kills against just three errors for a .297 hitting performance.
On defense, Valdosta State was led by
Sydney Chick, who eclipsed the 20-dig mark for the second straight match with 23, while
Natalia Campos added 11.
The three set wins on the afternoon marked six-straight on the weekend and helped lift VSU to 7-10 overall and 5-5 in GSC play. Meanwhile, Alabama-Huntsville fell to 12-5 overall and 6-4 against conference opponents.
Valdosta State returns home on October 12th for a Wednesday night matchup against the Lady Choctaws of Mississippi College at 6:00 p.m. in Valdosta, Ga.
