ROME, Ga. – The Valdosta State volleyball team's tough road trip continued on Saturday after a 3-0 Gulf South Conference loss at the hands of the Shorter Hawks in Rome, Ga.
Led by Tiffani Estep, who connected for eight kills against just one error, the Hawks posted a team average of .255 with 34 kills and just nine errors on 98 attempts.
For the Blazers, Antia-Rodriguez Sanchez offered up the biggest threat with a .250 hitting effort that included seven kills in 16 attempts. Sophomore
Ashley Miller also chipped in with six kills, and
Natalia Campos provided a team-high 12 digs on the defensive side.
The loss dropped Valdsota State to 12-13 on the season, 8-7 in conference play. Meanwhile, the Hawks improved to 18-6 overall, 13-3 against league opponents.
