VALDOSTA, Ga. - Valdosta State heads to Livingston, Ala. and the campus of West Alabama as the Blazers take part in the 2015 Gulf South Conference Tournament at Tartt Field.

The Blazers enter the tournament as the No. 5 seed and will play No. 2 seed Alabama-Huntsville in the first round on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Eastern. The remainder of the tournament includes top seed West Alabama, who will play No. 6 seed Delta State on Saturday, and No. 3 seed West Georgia against No. 4 seed West Florida.

Valdosta State is 28-17 entering the tournament and went 19-11 in Gulf South Conference play. The Blazers are second in the GSC in batting average at .343 and average 7.8 runs per game while the Blazer pitching staff enters the tournaemnt with a 4.55 earned run average and allows foes to bat .266.

The 2015 tournament marks the 22nd time overall and ninth straight year that Valdosta State has participated in the league's postseason event. The Blazers have gone 40-37 in their previous 21 tournaments, including a 17-12 mark in seven appearances under Head Coach Greg Guilliams. Valdosta State has won four GSC Tournament - in 1995, 2002, 2010 and 2013.
