2023 volleyball

Iva Scepanovic


Iva Scepanovic is entering her second year as a graduate assistant at VSU. Iva is from Bar, Montenegro.

Iva played volleyball at Armstrong State University in Savannah, GA, (2014-2018), where they were nationally ranked and were regular Peach Belt Conference and Peach Belt Conference Tournament Champions. Played volleyball professionally in Europe and won the National Championship and National Cup of Montenegro in 2022. 
Iva has had 8+ years of coaching experience at high school, club, and collegiate level. Won the bronze medal as part of the coaching staff for BIP SE-U18 Team at the highly competitive 18th Annual Global Challenge in Pula, Croatia in July of 2023. 
Iva's dad was a successful volleyball coach for 35+ years in Europe and her American mom, Margaret ''CJ'' Sherman had an outstanding college coaching career at Palm Beach Atlantic (1989-1994), USC Aiken (1994-1997), and the University of Montevallo (1998-2004) that included 4 NCAA All-Americans, 2 NAIA All-Americans, and 2 NCAA DII Honorable Mention All-Americans. She has also been coaching internationally with Bring It Promotions since 2002 in Europe, Central America, the South Pacific, as well as Australia and New Zealand. Iva's American sisters, Meghan Magnusson and Kamryn St Thomas have been All-American setters at University of Tampa and Armstrong State University, respectively.
Iva will graduate from Valdosta State University in December of 2023, with a degree in MBA-Healthcare.
