Sidney Dennis join the Blazers as a first-year graduate assistant at Valdosta State in the fall of 2024. In her role, Sidney is responsible for women’s basketball, softball, men’s & women’s cross country, and golf as while as assisting with football.
Sidney was born and raised in Oklahoma City, where she attended Del City High School, where she played basketball, soccer, and competed in track and field, earning a state championship in 2017. She continued my athletic journey at Southwestern College, playing basketball and competing in the hammer throw for her track and field team. While at Southwestern, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Physical Performance Studies and a Bachelor of Arts in Sports Management. Sidney also set several records in both basketball and track and field, qualified for the NAIA Nationals, and placed 2nd in her conference in the hammer throw.
Sidney discovered her passion for strength and conditioning during her time at Southwestern. Since then, she has coached at East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma working with all sports as a graduate assistant, moving to work with youth athletes at D1 Dallas in the heart of Dallas, Texas in 2023, and later joined Journey Fit running programs for a few major volleyball clubs in the Dallas area until its closure in March 2024. Now, she is incredibly fortunate to be part of the Balzer family, helping athletes push their limits and achieve their goals.
