Michael Doscher

Michael Doscher is in his 24th year at Valdosta State University as head strength and conditioning coach and is one of the most recognized strength and conditioning coaches in the country.  He is a key player within the athletic department and nobody is more aware of his value than the Valdosta State football program as he has helped lead the Blazers to four national championships since 2004, including the 2018 title.

His effect on the VSU athletic program has not been limited to football as he also helped the men’s tennis team to three straight NCAA championship matches, including the 2006 national title victory. He has aided the remaining nine Blazer programs to numerous Gulf South Conference championships and NCAA tournament appearances, including the softball program, which won a national championship in 2012.

Doscher has been honored for his work on several occasions, including in 2005 when he was named the national College Strength and Conditioning Professional-of-the-Year by the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He followed that by being named the Samson NCAA Division II Strength and Conditioning Coach-of-the-Year by American Football Weekly in 2007. Doscher was also chosen to speak by the National Strength and Conditioning Association in China on assessing and testing athletes three consecutive years from 2008-2010.

He joined the Blazer athletic family in 1996, received his undergraduate degree from Springfield College in 1992, and his master’s degree from Mississippi State University in 1995.  He gained experience as an intern at Boston College and an assistant at University of Nevada-Las Vegas and Mississippi State.  He stays on the cutting edge of strength and conditioning techniques, attending clinics throughout the country both as a presenter and participant and has been honored by the National Strength and Conditioning Association for his efforts and dedication.
