Marty Mcghin

Marty McGhin

For over a decade, McGhin has been, and continues to be, a key supporter of VSU Athletics. A VSU alum, McGhin's financial support has helped provide scholarship aid for many Blazer student-athletes to reach their potential both as an athlete and a student.  He currently serves in a key role with the Blazer football team as Director of Football Operations.

In recognition of his immeasurable support and contributions to Valdosta State Athletics, particularly the football program, McGhin was inducted into the VSU Hall of Fame in January, 2017.  The football program has placed great faith in his talents and abilities, and McGhin has fully embraced a host of responsibilities for VSU football.

He plays a large role in many key areas of day-to-day operations, including travel arrangements, scheduling, meals and much more.

During the Blazers' national championship run in McKinney, Texas, in December, McGhin was instrumental in all aspects of team travel, working with the host organization, meals, ground transportation and more as the Blazers capped the program's first undefeated season in school history with a thrilling 49-47 victory over Ferris State.

Most impressive of all about McGhin, is he takes on all of these responsibilities on a complete volunteer basis.
