Jordan Thornton is an offensive graduate assistant with the Valdosta State football program. He is from Gray, Georgia, and earned his Bachelor of Science in Sport Management with a Coaching minor from the University of West Georgia in 2025.
Thornton started his coaching career at the University of West Georgia. He worked as an Offensive Student Assistant and later as an Equipment Manager. In his role as a student assistant, he helped with film input, managed wide receivers and their rotations, and called offensive plays during practices and games. He also gained experience in football operations by overseeing equipment logistics, team travel, and locker room setups for home and away games.
Before joining the Blazers, Thornton was an Assistant Quarterbacks and Wide Receivers Coach at Bowdon High School. There, he helped with game and practice planning while coaching both quarterbacks and receivers at the junior varsity and varsity levels. He contributed to Bowdon winning the 2024 A-D2 State Championship as part of an offense that ranked No. 1 in Georgia's A-D2 classification.
Thornton joined the Valdosta State football team as an intern in 2025. He then moved into his current role as an Offensive Graduate Assistant. He helps with the quarterback, wide receiver, and tight end position groups during practices and meetings. He also supports special teams preparation, assists with recruiting efforts, updates the roster and depth chart, and tracks quarterback statistics during practices and games.
