Jemarrlowe Sykes begins his first season with the Valdosta State University football team as a Graduate Assistant.
Sykes has brought a great deal of experience from his time playing in college to the Blazers, having played at Northwood University and Saginaw Valley State University.
Sykes, who was a defensive lineman, made 31 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks in his most recent season; earlier in his career he had 47 tackles, 10 tackles for loss and seven sacks while at Northwood, and then recorded 26 tackles, six tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks at Saginaw Valley State.
Sykes joins the coaching field having had a solid record of play on the defensive line and a great deal of experience playing at the collegiate level.
