Javiontae Martin

Coach Javiontae Martin is the Assistant Defensive Line Coach and Housing Coordinator at Valdosta State University. He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the position. As a dominant hybrid defensive end at Valdosta State University, he accumulated 102 career tackles, with over 15 in the TFL column. He played as a true freshman, and towards the middle of his sophomore season, his career began to take off. Coach Martin was a two-year starter and captain for the Blazers, who enjoyed strong junior and senior seasons before a season-ending injury in week 5 in 2022. He was part of the 2018 national championship team and contributed to three Gulf South Conference championships (2018, 2019, 2021). Notably, his 2021 team was also a national finalist.

In his first year of coaching in 2023, he helped lead the Blazers back to a conference championship and reach the quarterfinals of the D2 playoffs. 

Education : Coach Martin obtained undergraduate degree in Exercise Physiology with a minor in Coaching from Valdosta State in Fall 2021, he completed his master's in the Arts of Teaching in Health and Physical Education from Valdosta State University in Spring 2024. Coach Martin is a certified ASCM Exercise Physiologist and a certified teacher in the state of Georgia. A native of Douglas, GA, he is also a proud member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc.
