Fred Billy is starting his first season with the football program at Valdosta State University.
After working at Lincoln University (Pa.) as Defensive Backs Coach, Head Secondary Coach, Recruiting Coordinator and Pass Game Coordinator, Billy joined the Blazers. He had earlier been a Graduate Assistant focusing on defensive backs at North Greenville University.
Billy, who is from Bradenton, Florida, has extensive experience in coaching defensive backs, in recruiting and developing players, and has worked with a number of different defensive systems. Moreover, he played college football at North Greenville and at the University of West Florida, joining the team that won the 2019 NCAA Division II National Championship and also the 2021 Gulf South Conference championship team. He was appointed team captain at North Greenville in 2023.
Billy obtained a bachelor’s degree in Sport Management from North Greenville and a master’s degree in Organizational Leadership from that university.
