D'eryk Jackson acts as a graduate assistant in the football team at Valdosta State, where his role is to work with the OLB. He is now moving from his successful career as a college player into one as a coach, applying the knowledge and experience he has gained on the field to the development of the student-athletes.
Jackson, who was a letter winner at the University of Kentucky for four years and a starting player for three, took part in 47 of his career games with 31 of those being starts and achieved a tackle in 31 consecutive games. At the end of his time with the Wildcat team he had 216 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, 9.0 sacks, five interceptions, nine pass breakups and one forced fumble. He was the leading tackler at Kentucky in both 2022 and 2023, before spending a season with the Seattle Seahwaks.
He is now applying his first-hand experience from college to provide the Blazers' OLB with useful knowledge and to assist in their development both on and off the field.
