VALDOSTA, Ga. - Valdosta State Athletics is excited to announce they have renewed their partnership with Hughston Clinic as the official orthopedic and sports medicine provider of the Blazers.

For nearly three decades, Hughston Clinic has provided specialized orthopedic care and sports medicine services to Blazer student-athletes. As the partnership continues to grow, VSU Athletics is proud to recognize the clinic's lasting impact on the health and success of its student-athletes.

"Hughston Clinic is honored to renew our partnership with Valdosta State University and continue supporting Blazer Athletics," Said Hughston Clinic's orthopedic sports medicine surgeon Dr. Kevin Collins.  "This longstanding relationship reflects our shared commitment to excellence, student-athlete health, and providing world-class orthopedic and sports medicine care to the Valdosta State community."
Hughston Clinic's Valdosta location provides pre-participation physicals, timely office visits, radiological services, and surgical care for Blazer student-athletes. Several of VSU's full-time Athletic Trainers are Hughston Clinic employees who contract with the university, working seamlessly alongside VSU staff to keep teams healthy and on the field. On game days, Hughston Clinic brings a large team of providers to each VSU home football game to provide sideline medical care.

"They are available whenever we need them, and their patient care goes far beyond diagnosis and treatment. Hughston Clinic created the modern model of sports medicine and has been an influential leader in the field ever since. We are blessed to have them as our Sports Medicine partner and look forward to many more years together," said Jay Johnson, head athletic trainer.

"The Hughston Clinic has been a staple of Blazer Athletics for many years, and we are fortunate to have them as a valued part of the Blazer family. Providing our student-athletes with a great experience during their time here is a priority, and quality athletic health care is a critical part of that experience. Dr. Collins and the entire Hughston Clinic team consistently make the health and well-being of our student-athletes a priority. Their commitment to our student-athletes has made them an important part of Blazer Athletics, and we are grateful for their continued partnership. Hughston Clinic is a part of our championship tradition, and we look forward to continuing to build on that tradition together," said Troy Katen, director of athletics.
