HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - The Blazers raced at The Twilight at John Hunt Park Friday evening and are coming home with new personal and season bests. As a team, the women finished third overall, while the men secured second place.

For the women, junior Ella Burnett finished fifth with a time of 19:25.0, next was Samantha Savinon-Rios who placed 13th with a time of 20:00.8. 

Alanta Lofton secured 16th place with a new personal best of 20:08.2. Emma Burnett finished 18th with a time of 20:10.4

The last pair of finishers were Ellie Cardozo, who came in 51st with a personal best of 22:05.6 and Alyssa Youmans in 64th with a time of 23:01.4.

Several of the men's team earned personal bests in the 8K. The top finisher in seventh place was junior Nick Waddell who posted a personal best of 25:43.5.

A quartet of Blazers all finished within seconds of one another with each one hitting a personal best. Jake Wilkerson finished 13th, with a personal best time of 26:15.8. Next across was Liam LeBroque in 14th who also reached a new personal best with a time of 26:20.0. A second after was Parker Henderson in 15th, who had a time of 26:20.1. Rounding out the group was Caleb Tilford, finishing 16th with a time of 26:24.8.                                                                                  

Next, Graham Harrod finished 33rd with a time of 27:34.1. Toshiya Bass came in 40th, with a season's best of 27:55.8. Hunter Shuler secured a personal best of 28:18.8 for a 46th place finish. And Mason Brown placed 48th with a season best time of 28:23.7.

The final batch of finishers begin with a pair of personal bests. First, Alexander Albano who came in 56th at a mark of 28:53.8. Then Nate Spivey in 62nd with a time of 29:52.3. Finally, Randall Luke came in 86th with a season best mark of 32:44.3.

Next up, the Blazers will head to the Sunshine State for the Florida State Invitational on Friday, October 9th starting with the men at 7:40 a.m.
