Blazers Carry Momentum into GSC Matchup Against AUM

VALDOSTA, GA. - The Valdosta State volleyball team looks to build off of their first GSC win of the season going back to The Complex Tuesday night at 6 p.m. to play against Auburn Montgomery.

The Blazers who are now 7-7 and being 1-1 in GSC, have just come off from a closely contested 3-1 win against Trevecca Nazarene on Saturday. VSU won the first and second set before the Trojans pulled through for the third set. Valdosta State sealed the match by winning the fourth set 25-23.

This win concluded a competitive weekend for the Blazers after they fought Lee in a four set match before winning against Trevecca. As VSU proceeds with its early conference schedule, they hope to show the same resilience on Tuesday.

Eva LaRochelle, junior outside hitter, recorded an average of 3.25 kills per set, while Paola Aviles contributed 2.38 kills per set. Avery Mullins directs the VSU attacks with 9 assists per set and Eimy Negron Domenech holds down the back row with 5.86 digs per set.

Scouting The Warhawks:

Auburn Montgomery are sitting 2-10 on their season and 0-2 in conference. The Warhawks started their GSC schedule with matches against Trevecca Nazarene and Lee. Auburn Montgomery lost to Trevecca in three sets while their match against Lee was more of a fight, taking them to five sets before losing to Lee.

AUM has a number of offensive leaders such as Chelsea Daffin, Jamya Powell and Mya Lacey, each recording 2.71, 2.5 and 2.38 kills per set respectively. As setter, Addison Vinson, leads the Warhawks with 7 assists per set.

In a defensive capacity Amiliaa DeLeon leads the Warhawks with 3.15 digs per set and behind her is Daffin with 2.4 digs per set.
