WEST POINT, Miss. - The Valdosta State men's golf team got off to an excellent start in the Dunning Invitational on Monday Sept. 21.

As a team the Blazers carded two team rounds of 283 golf good enough for -10 and second place.

Freshman Jonah Nacional impressed in his collegiate debut going eight under par through two rounds to lead the field of 60 golfers.
In round one the St. Johns, Florida native shot 69 and bested his first score with a 67 in the second round.

Alexander Nilehn is tied for fourth through two rounds with five under par. He carded a 69 stroke first round and followed up with a 70 stroke round two.

Adam Waller sits tied for 18^th with a round of 73 stroke golf following it up with a par round to end the day one over.

William Carestam ended the day tied for 23^rd at two over after a 72 round one and a 74 round two.

David Wagner shot a 74 round one and an 80 round two for +10 and sits at 51^st place

Kaleb Shiver competed as an independent with a score of seven over after a round one of 75 and a round two of 76.

The Blazers return to the course tomorrow for round three at 9:30 AM. They are currently seven strokes behind first place UT Dallas and two strokes ahead of the third place hosts Delta State
