Birmingham, Ala. - The Blazers earned three the four GSC Football Weekly honors for their performance against UNC Pembroke. Jabari McMillan was named Freshman of the week while, Shawn Paschall earned Offensive Player of the week and Julius Pascal collected the Defensive accolade in the Week 3 set of 2026 Gulf South Conference Football Weekly Awards presented by Athletic Solutions.

McMillan recorded a season high eight stops with a tackle for loss with three yards. Of the eight tackles, the rookie had seven unassisted, along with one tackle for loss. This is his second consecutive week earning GSC Freshman of the Week honors. 

Pascal was a wall on defense. He finished with nine tackles, including three six unassisted, plus a 94-yard pick six in the first quarter, giving the Blazers a 27-10 lead. The junior also recorded a tackle for loss, half a sack, one pass breakup and two quarterback hurries. 

Paschall rushed for a career-high 155 yards against the Braves. The sophomore ran the ball 11 times, averaging 14.1 yards per carry, scoring two touchdowns. His longest run of the day was for 45 yards, finding the end zone, helping the Blazers cut the deficit to three with 6:52 remaining. 

The Blazers are on a bye week before they return to action when they host Erskine College at Bazemore-Hyder Stadium on Saturday Oct. 3rd at 4 p.m.
