MACON, Ga. - The Valdosta State volleyball are coming home with a road win making their record 6-6 for the season.
In the first set Valdosta State started off strong, achieving a .500 team hitting percentage and registering 14 kills. The Blazers gained an early advantage and never lost it, winning the first set 25-11.
In the second set, the Blazers carried on their lead by registering 13 kills and achieving a hit rate of .229, taking a 2-0 advantage in the match. VSU then completed the sweep with another solid offensive performance in the third set, managing a hit rate of .265 and ending the match with a team hitting percentage of .316.
Eva LaRochelle contributed 13 kills to the Blazers' offensive effort and achieved a success rate of .444 in the match. Kinsley Timmons then added eight kills and four blocks, the highest number of blocks for the team, while Maddie Kilmer provided six kills and three blocks.
Avery Mullins had 30 assists as she directed the attack, and Eimy Negron Domenech contributed 18 digs by holding down the defense. Ava Keuntjes also managed two service aces, and both Mia Verger and Mullins got one each.
The team as a whole recorded 39 kills, five service aces, seven blocks and 50 digs. The Blazers kept Middle Georgia State at a hitting percentage of .049 for the match.
