BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Jabari McMillan earned Freshman of the Week in the Week 2 set of 2026 Gulf South Conference Football Weekly Awards presented by Athletic Solutions.

The Jacksonville native was a standout on defense for the Blazers this weekend grabbing two picks and contributing three tackles to the defensive effort. 

McMillan's first interception came in the third quarter after a great grab on a 50/50 ball to setup a Blazers field goal.

His second takeaway came during the first play in the fourth quarter when McMillan intercepted a would be touchdown pass to hold the Broncos from any further scoring and seal the game.

This award is the first weekly honor for McMillan and the second conference football honor for the Blazers in 2026.

The Blazers travel to Pembroke, N.C. on Saturday Sept. 19 to face the Braves at 1 p.m. ET
