INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Valdosta State Athletic Compliance Officer
Courtney Smith has been named to the NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Committee, beginning Sept. 1, 2026, and running through Aug. 31, 2030.
As a member of the Division II Women's Soccer Committee, Smith will regularly participate in committee meetings and conference calls while helping advance the NCAA's mission, tradition, values and reputation.
"As a DII WSOC alum, this opportunity means a lot to me," said Smtih. "Being able to serve in the space that piqued my interest in collegiate athletics as a career is something I have always looked forward to. I am excited to serve alongside some distinguished coaches and administrators who share the same love for Women's Soccer that I do. I look forward to using this as a learning opportunity just as much as an opportunity to serve."
Smith recently completed her first year at Valdosta State Athletics after beginning her duties as Athletic Compliance Officer on July 1, 2025.
She came to Titletown from Troy University Athletics, where she served as Director of Compliance beginning in November 2023. At Troy, Smith assisted the Associate Director of Athletics for Compliance and Student-Athlete Success with enforcing, reviewing, and investigating NCAA rules and regulations. She coordinated the collection and dissemination of NCAA and Sun Belt Conference reports, while overseeing financial aid management and recruiting practices for all sports.
Smith also was selected by the Sun Belt Conference to attend NACA at the NCAA National Office for the 2024-25 cohort and recently was named an ACE Mentee for the 2025-26 cohort.
Prior to Troy, Smith served as Compliance Coordinator at Barton College Athletics in Wilson, N.C., from February 2023 to November 2023, where she was the sole compliance administrator for athletics. In addition to her compliance responsibilities, she assisted with game operations as a game day manager for soccer, lacrosse, basketball, and volleyball. During her time at Barton, she supported more than 726 student-athletes across 25 sports programs.
Smith earned both her bachelor's degree in business administration and sports management and her MBA in strategic leadership from Barton College in May 2023. She also was a member of the school's women's soccer team.
