At Valdosta State, Smith serves as the departments sole compliance officer. She is tasked with integrating compliance and recruiting software, creating policies and procedures, and building a rules and education curriculum for the departments coaches and administrators while maintaining day-to-day compliance duties.
Smith came to Titletown from NCAA Division I Troy University (Troy, Ala.) where she was the Director of Compliance since November 2023. There, she assisted the Associate Director of Athletics/Compliance and Student-Athlete Success with enforcing, reviewing and investigating NCAA rules. She coordinated the collection and dissemination of NCAA and Sun Belt Conference reports, while overseeing financial aid management and managing recruiting practices for all sports. She was selected by the Sun Belt Conference to attend NACA at The NCAA National Office for the 2024-25 cohort, and most recently was named an ACE Mentee for the 2025-26 cohort.
Prior to Troy, Smith was the Compliance Coordinator at NCAA Division II Barton College in Wilson, N.C., from February 2023 to November 2023, where she served as the sole compliance administrator for athletics. Outside of her compliance duties, she assisted with game operations as a game day manager for soccer, lacrosse, basketball, and volleyball. She helped over 726+ student-athletes and 25+ teams at Barton.
Smith graduated from Barton College with a bachelor's degree in business administration and sports management and an MBA in strategic leadership in May of 2023. She was a member of the women's soccer team.
Smith began her duties at VSU on July 1, 2025 and resides in Valdosta, GA with her dog Lily.
