SAINT LEO, Fla. – The No. 50 Valdosta State men's tennis team dropped a 4-0 decision at No. 4 Saint Leo on Sunday afternoon. VSU fell to 4-7 on the year, while Saint Leo improved to 12-2.
No. 2-ranked SLU duo of Kodai Kato and Jose David Segovia won 6-1 at the top spot over
Philipp Bosse and
Pietro Casciola and SLU duo of Dylan Andrianaly and Sander Sootla won 6-3 at No. 3 doubles over
Jerome Iaconi and
Yohann Meunier to clinch the doubles point and the early lead.
In singles, SLU won at No. 6 by retirement for a 2-0 lead. No. 9-ranked Segovia won 6-2, 6-1 over
Wilson Igbinovia at No. 2 singles, while Kato, ranked No. 51, defeated
Emile Delporte 6-3, 6-1 at No. 4 for the 4-0 win.
The Blazers return home to prepare for Mississippi College on Apr. 3 at 11 a.m. ET in Pensacola, Fla.
