FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Valdosta State men's golf team sits ninth following two rounds of the 2026 Shark Invitational on the Grande Oaks Golf Club hosted by Nova Southeastern.  The Blazers carded a 36-hole team score of 573 on rounds of 287 and 286 on the par 71, 6,750-yard course.  The host Sharks lead the 15-team field with a 539 score, heading into Tuesday's final round. 
 
The 15^th-ranked Sharks are 29-under through 36-holes and hold a 15-stroke lead over No. 4 Florida Southern (554), while No. 27 Flagler is 10-under (558) and there is a tie for fourth between No. 16Barry and No. 23 Rollins at 6-under 562.  No. 19 Saint Leo is sixth at 2-under 566, followed by No. 28 Lynn (570) and Eastern Florida State (NJCAA) is eighth at 572.
 
VSU follows at 573, as No. 37 Palm Beach Atlantic and No. 50 Tampa are tied for tenth at 574.  No. 44 Eckerd is 12^th with a 579 score, followed by Embry-Riddle (580), Mississippi College (582) and Wilmington (Del.) is 15^th at 593.  
 
Tuesday's shotgun start will begin at 8:30 a.m. with the Blazers playing with Palm Beach Atlantic, Tampa and Eckerd and will begin on hole ten.  
 
Individually, Florida Southern's Colton Swartz and Nova Southeastern's Rodrigo Huerta are the clubhouse leaders at 9-under 133.  Flagler's Patrick Herron is third at 7-under 135, while there is a three-way tie for fourth at 6-under 136 and a seven-way tie for seventh at 4-under 138.  In all, 25 players are under par through two rounds and an additional six are even par including Blazer junior William Carestam who is 2-under (140) and is tied for 17^th on rounds of 68 and 72, while junior Adam Waller is tied for 26^th with an even par 142 score on rounds of 72 and 70.  
 
Blazer senior Joshua Burki is tied for 43^rd with a 145 score on rounds of 72 and 73, while junior Nick Mueller is tied for 72^nd with a 150 score after carding rounds of 79 and 71.  Junior Alexander Nilehn is 75^th with a 151 score on rounds of 75 and 76.
