MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – The Valdosta State men's tennis team came up short in a 7-0 loss at No. 2 Barry on Saturday.  With the loss, VSU fell to 4-5 on the year, while Barry improved to 16-0. 
 
The Buccaneers won at the top two doubles positions to clinch the team point as Thomas Machado and Adam Lynch won 6-3 over Jereome Iaconi and Yohann Meunier and No. 20 duo of Ricardo Trione and Simone Cavalleri won 6-3 at the top spot over VSU tandem of Philipp Bosse and Pietro Casciola.   At No. 3 doubles, BU's Yan Kodjoed and Antonin Chapuis held a 5-4 lead over Wilson Igbinovia and Emile Delporte when the point was clinched.
 
Playing the whole match out, Barry used straight-set wins at Nos. 4, 2 and 3 to clinch the win.  In a battle of top 75 players, Trione, ranked 25^th nationally, won 7-6 (7-3) 6-1 over Bosse who entered 53^rd nationally at the top spot.
 
The Blazers will look to get back on track as they host Auburn Montgomery in Valdosta on Mar. 27 at 2 p.m. in a key Gulf South Conference matchup.
