VALDOSTA, Ga. - Freshman guard
Chardae Rumph was named the Gulf South Conference Freshman of the Week by the league office for the second time during her 2025-26 campaign. The Miami, Fla. native drilled six of her nine three-point attempts during the Lady Blazers' overtime victory over West Florida at the Complex on Saturday. Rumph was a steady shooter throughout the game, connecting on three three-point attempts in each half. The Somerset Prep HS grad hit a pair of clutch threes down the stretch, played strong defense, and dished one assist in the win.
Chardae Rumph and the Lady Blazers are back in action at the Complex twice this week. First, VSU hosts Lee (15-5, 11-4 GSC) on Thursday at 6 p.m. when we celebrate Girls and Women's in Sports Day. The team then hosts Trevecca Nazarene (13-7, 10-5 GSC) on Saturday during Youth Day and SGMC Day.
