INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Valdosta State received word it has been awarded hosting duties for the 2026 NCAA Division II Men's Golf South/Southeast Regional in May at Valdosta Country Club.

"We were happy to be able to step in and host the NCAA Division II South/Southeast Super Regional," VSU head coach Jared Purvis said.  "Valdosta Country Club will be a great test of golf for D2's best teams."

The 54-hole event will be played at the newly redesigned Valdosta Country Club, scheduled for May 7-9, 2026, with a practice date of May 6.  VSU last hosted the regional in 2022 at Kinderlou Forest Golf Club.

"The newly renovated Valdosta Country Club is excited to host the NCAA Division II South/Southeast Regional," Cary Brown, Director of Golf/General Manager Valdosta Country Club said.  "We are looking forward to seeing how some of the best collegiate golfers in the country navigate our challenging layout."

The NCAA Division II Men's Golf Championships will consist of both team and individual competition conducted concurrently from the South and Southeast Regions. Ten teams and the top four individuals not with a team will be selected from each region to compete in one of four 54-hole regional tournaments, each consisting of 20 teams and eight individuals total from the two regions.

A total of seven teams, including the top two individuals not with a team from each regional (regardless of region) will advance to the finals. Tiebreakers and playoffs will be used to determine advancement to the finals, as well as team and individual champions.

The men's golf committee has the ability to implement an administrative cut after 36 holes of play to the top 15 teams and top six individuals not on those teams. The administrative cut will only occur after all other options to complete 54 holes of play by all 108 participants have been exhausted.

The 2026 NCAA Division II Men's Golf National Championship is scheduled for May 18-22, 2026, at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nev.

In the 2022 regional, former Blazer Wesley Hanson earned an individual spot at Kinderlou where he finished tied for 48th with a 220 score for 54-holes.  Last season, former Blazer Chase Long also qualified as an individual at Howey-in-the-Hills Mission Hills Golf Club.

As a team, the Blazers are seeking their first team regional appearance since 2021 and also qualified for the regional in 2019, marking the first team qualification since 2013.
