VALDOSTA, Ga. - Valdosta State women's volleyball libero, Eimy Negron Domenech, earns her second GSC Defensive Player of the Week award this season based on her performances during Homecoming week. Negron Domenech was also recently awarded D2VB Stats South Region Player of the Week and is currently ranked fourth for NCAA Division II in digs per set.

Negron Domenech was the anchor of the Blazers' defense all week with 81 digs in three matches as Valdosta State finished the week 2-1. She averaged 27 digs per match, keeping the team in the fight on the defensive end.
The senior libero's best game of the season so far was against Mississippi Christian on Sunday Oct. 25 where she had a match high of 35 digs in a five-set win which was the Homecoming and Alumni Day match.
With the latest accolade she's another one of the premier defensive players in the Gulf South Conference and in NCAA DII. She has been a key factor in the Blazers' success this 2026 season.
The Blazers will continue their push through Gulf South Conference play as they look to build on their recent performances and finish the regular season on a high note.Â
