Holcomb and Eddins Earn Academic All-District® Honors as Selected by College Sports Communicators

VALDOSTA, Ga. – Valdosta State junior quarterback Jameson Holcomb and junior kicker Ethan Eddins were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Football Team as selected by CSC.  
 
The duo are two of ten student-athletes from the Gulf South Conference who earned academic all-district honors with five from Delta State, two from West Alabama and one from West Florida.  Click here for the Academic All-District Teams® as selected by CSC.
 
Holcomb, a native of Murfreesoboro, Tenn., went 129 of 211 passing for 1,539 yards, 12 touchdowns and four interceptions this season, helping lead VSU to the program's 11th Gulf South Conference title and the 21st appearance in the NCAA postseason.  He had a 61.1 completion percentage for the season, while he had a long throw of 65 yards and averaged 171.0 yards per game passing.  Holcomb finished with a 137.38 passing efficiency rating for the season, while he had his best game of the season, going 20 of 37 passing for 331 yards and four touchdowns in the thrilling overtime victory over West Florida.
 
Eddins, a native of Jacksonville, Fla., handled kickoff duties for the Blazers this season with 60 kicks for 3,673 yards and an average of 61.2 per kick.  He had 27 touchbacks with no kicks out of play this season.  He had a season-high seven kickoffs at West Florida.  
 
Last season, Eddins went 16 of 16 in extra-points and 3 of 5 in field goals helping lead VSU to the national title game.  He earned GSC Academic Honor Roll accolades in 2024.  For his career, he has 98 kickoffs for 6,026 yards for a 61.5 average and 43 touchbacks.
