Box Score VALDOSTA, Ga. – Blazer volleyball (4-9) outdueled Auburn Montgomery (1-10) for its third straight three set (25-22, 25-16, 25-18) sweep victory to move to 3-1 in Gulf South Conference play.
AUM came out swinging, piling up two kills, a block, and a service ace on the way to a 4-0 lead out of the gate. Senior

Madison Kilmer stepped up for the first two Blazer kills, then a pair of Warhawk errors knotted things up at four. Young knocked down her second kill to push VSU ahead 5-4.

Avery Mullins powered the Blazer offense on its way to an 11-11 tie. A three-point Blazer run came behind a kill from junior
Asia Montagnani, an ace from Mullins, and a combined block from Young and Kilmer.
Another block by Young and Oncins moved VSU ahead 16-13. Young and Callenberger knocked down kills and the latter earned a block to make it 19-17. The Blazers arrived at match point 24-21 behind an ace from freshman
Ava Keuntjes and kills from Mullins and Montagnani. Montagnani knocked down an emphatic final kill of the set to win it 25-22.
Several Warhawk errors combined with more kills from Callenberger and Young to give VSU an early 7-3 second set lead. Montagnani knocked down a kill, then Keuntjes served up three consecutive aces to make it 12-9.
Mullins put down a kill then set a pair of kills up for Kilmer and Young to expand the Blazer lead to 18-12. Graduate
Macy Brown then served back-to-back aces to make it 20-12. Several Warhawk errors pushed VSU ahead 23-16, then back-to-back kills from Callenberger and Montagnani finished the set 25-16.

Eva LaRochelle delivered a kill then an AUM error made it 3-0 Blazers early. Kilmer, Brown, and Callenberger posted kills to combine with an ace from junior
Hailey Holder to make it 8-5.

Eimy Negron Domenech delivered an ace and a pair of kills from LaRochelle put the Blazers up 14-7. Montagnani (2), Callenberger, Young, and LaRochelle all posted kills as the Blazers pulled away for a 19-13 lead.
Holder served her second ace, and a pair of AUM errors pushed the lead to 22-17. Montagnani knocked down back-to-back kills and a Warhawk error closed the set to give the Blazers the win in the set and the match.
Junior
Asia Montagnani led the Blazer attack with nine kills at a .286 clip. Seniors

Eimy Negron Domenech each added seven digs in the sweep.
The Valdosta State volleyball team claimed its eighth victory over the Warhawks, tying the all-time series record at eight matches each. The teams will battle to break the all-time series tie on Oct. 21st in Montgomery.
Looking Forward
The Blazers will be back in action at the Complex twice this weekend. VSU hosts UAH on Friday, Oct. 3rd at 6 p.m. ET. They will then shift their focus to Montevallo on Saturday at 1 p.m. ET.
